The beginnings of a beautiful journey
Our story began over 30 years ago with my father's original pond, a testament to DIY ingenuity using an old jacuzzi and roofing rubber. After years of disarray, my sister and I restored it for Mother's Day, bringing back its former beauty. It was during this restoration, as I cleaned and updated the filtration, that I bought my mother a couple of 4-5 inch koi. Hooked by their grace, I dove headfirst into the koi hobbyist world, expanding with more ponds, landscaping, and, of course, more koi.
From hobby to calling: Pennys Pretty Koi LLC
The profound beauty of koi truly became a solace. Recognizing my deep enjoyment of Koi, my husband suggested turning my passion into a business. Therefore, we officially opened Pennys Pretty Koi LLC in April 2026. This venture allows us to share our love for these magnificent fish, offering a wide array of varieties and sizes to fellow hobbyists.
